I am a senior public relations major in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. I consider myself a detail-oriented planner and, with the help of my multimedia design minor, I have developed a creative side that helps in problem solving and planning.
Over the past couple of years, I have gained experience in both the nonprofit and sports industries. This past summer, I was hired by Zero Breast Cancer, a nonprofit focusing on the education and prevention of breast cancer in Marin County and surrounding areas. I worked as a consultant to help plan and execute their main fundraiser, The Dipsea Hike for Zero Breast Cancer.
In 2013, I had the great opportunity to intern for the minor league Pacifics Baseball team. There, I assisted the event director in soliciting, booking, planning and executing corporate and personal pre-game events and parties at the baseball park.
I am now the secretary for the newly developed and student-run Student Event Planners Association at the University of Oregon. I am in the process of helping to develop a following and strong client base before I graduate in June 2015.
Hailing from the San Francisco area, sports have had a major influence on me and my career goals. I plan to move back home to the City by the Bay and continue a career in event planning and coordination.
